Nancy takes a break halfway through a bike ride of about 7 miles. Not too far but at this point we had been going uphill nearly the entire time.
Lisbon has some bike paths but overall is not very biker friendly. I believe more paths are being created, but they are poorly labeled and often stop and start with no indication as to where the next section of the bath is located. Still better than biking in LA though.
If you are in Lisbon and want to go biking this site has the best maps I was able to find.
