isn't matt so hardcore?

on sunday we went biking in monsanto park - we started out on the pretty red bike path that runs through our neighborhood.  the fun part is it sorta just comes and goes as it pleases so you always have to play hide and seek with the path in the middle of your ride. i'm still not sure if we've reached the end or if it just continues off around another corner and down 2 blocks.

 we took it over in the direction of the park and then discovered that the bike path circles up north around the eastern edge of the park to the northern edge. (here's a view of the lisbon and the park - make sure you're on satellite view: to the googles! it wasn't too far but it was a pretty steep uphill climb the entire way in the blazing sun next to a highway - luckily at the top there was a repsol (gas station) and we  spent our only euro on more water before getting lost in the park for 3 hours.  we had a lot of fun just exploring and following whatever path/trail/road we felt like (and i swear, we somehow were always going uphill).   about 45 minutes after the water ran out we finally made it back to our neighborhood safe and sound.

p.s. the strangest part might have been when we stumbled across the professional model car racetrack in the middle of the park - seriously!
